SPORTSbyBROOKS.com pointed this one out here.
Here’s what happened:
And this is what Rich Rodriguez had to say about it:
Draw your own conclusions. Mine: Be careful what you say or do, because somehow, someway and in some fashion the internet will hold you accountable.
Stay classy Ann Arbor! I will give Rich Rod style points for not getting all defensive, but he might be spent in that category defending his practice schedules.
I'm sure that happens all the time.
The Michigan kid is a dolt, why even bother punching a guy wearing a circa 2009 football helmet, you'd have to get an absolutely perfect shot at the Adam's apple to do any kind of damage. And even then it would be deflected. Ellen DeGeneres nails Portia de Rossi harder than that Notre Dame kid got nailed.
I see what they call a punch, and the kid isn't even looking, he's looking back at the action. You snap your body up after being on the ground. I don't see anything wrong here other than a whiney Irish fan posing a youtube video.
@G-man, if you didn`t see a punch either you`re blind or an idiot! That was a cheap shot. Look at his friend at the end of the play, too. Michigan is not winning any friends by that kind of play. Suspend the player for a game.
Talk about blind, the ND player 55 was obviously talking crap to the Michigan player, and 55 hit him in the back with a sort of late "tackle". He hardly punched him, for God's sake it is football. Man up a little.
Still, the worst cheap shot I've seen recently was the one during the Oklahoma/USC basketball game last season when Blake Griffin was punched below the belt:

Bobby Carpenters rabbit punches to some guy's throat during one of the national championship games might be the worst I can remember. I'd guess this sort of thing happens in pileups all the time and coaches are blase about it unless it results in a penalty. I'm sure this player got reemed, because it could have cost yards, but it wasn't much of anything, really.
