The Browns continue to get no respect (I tell ya …. )
ESPN's John Clayton writes that the Viikings first five games are like "an extra preseason." Yes, the Browns are among those five games.
"(Brett) Favre and the Vikings will benefit from several things in their first five games," Clayton writes. "They open against teams with a combined 2008 record of 19-61, giving Favre almost an extra preseason.
SI.com's Power Rankings put the Browns … 32nd. Yes, there are only 32 teams in the league.
And Joe Posnanski of SI states that the Browns have the largest potential for disaster in the AFC North. "I guess it depends on which quarterback plays," opines Posnanski. "Or … actually, it doesn't."
Har! These national writers are just a riot! It sure is nice of the Browns to provide them with such easily reached conclusions, too. Just think of what a problem it would be to write these preseason prediction columns if everyone was operating on a level playing field (pun intended).
As long as Farve leaves the game with a season-ending injury this Sunday, all is well.
Posnanski is from Cleveland – makes one proud, huh?! That's the way you go from the Star to SI.
