Seems that the computer department was being asked to check every device on the campus for nefarious bugging devices. Including routers, phones, computers… everything. Thousands of hours were wasted. All because some executive blabbed some information to the wrong person about how the executives had sold a key resource in their supply chain, and the buyer then jacked the price of that resource up over 50 times the previous price. This increase directly led to the entire facility being shut down and massive layoffs. They could have sold with a stipulation about maintaining price levels, but noooooooo!
