All the guide books said Doolin was a place to visit.
Tiny little town southwest of Galway that is tucked inside the Atlantic. It's the home, the guidebooks say, of traditional Irish music. You may or may not like traditional Irish music, but if you're in Ireland you might as well listen to it. I mean, who wants to go to Rome and eat Hungarian food?
So we went to Doolin. And you wind up seeing silly signs like this at the music store there.
And with some excitement I strolled to a pub that featured traditional Irish music. It said so right outside. When I opened the door, I heard the sounds of "You're in my heart … you're in my soul … " waft outside.
Rod Stewart … in the home of traditional Irish music.

what does that sign say?
"Howard Johnson's"
I stayed at the Hostel in Doolin in 97, walked to a couple of pubs in the evening and heard nothing but traditional music. Perhaps things have changed since then.
