The Ben Roethlisberger situation

by Pat McManamon on July 22, 2009

in Ben Roethlisberger, McManamon

Here’s the details on the complaint charging Ben Roethlisberger with sexual assault in a civil suit, including an alleged statement by the head of security at the casino where the alleged assault took place saying “most girls would feel lucky to get to have sex with someone like Ben Roethlisberger.” It’s a complaint in a civil suit, which must be remembered. And Roethlisberger’s attorney denied all charges, pointing out no criminal charges ever were filed. But there are a lot of details in the filling, details that would not seem to come out of mid-air, details that are not pretty and are very disturbing if they in fact are proven to be true.

I'd like to know why ESPN didn't touch this story with Roethlisberger's big 10 … uh, I mean with a 10-foot-pole. Fishy.

They claimed they don't report on civil suits unless there's been a criminal charge filed. That's what they said.

I think after all he went through after his accident, Ben's smart enough not to put himself in a situation like that and put his career and well-being in jeopardy. Especially after hearing how allegedly lured her in.. really?

If he is innocent, I'd counter-sue the beans out of her.

Must not have been able to get her to drink a rufie, so he called an audible.

What she really worth it? I would have scrambled straight out of the pocket or simply taken an intentional grounding based on just the hat alone.
