More NFL stuff that makes you shake your head

The local sports web site waitingfornextyear.com has an insightful post on the practices of the Kansas City Chiefs, who are gouging fans to buy tickets for ridiculous preseason games by linking them to the purchase of a ticket for a regular season game.

money money moneyFans who want a ticket for a home game against Dallas or Pittsburgh must buy a ticket for a preseason game. And the preseason games cost the same as the regular season ones, of course.

This is called a farce, a first-class shafting of the fans who show up every Sunday to support the team. The web site writes: " … as it has been pointed out in Browns town for a lot of years, NFL fans generally don’t revolt and stop consuming.  So what incentive does the NFL and its franchises have to stop gouging?"

The answer: There is no incentive. They'll do it as long as fans will let them. NFL fans are like the guy in Network, except they scream: "We're mad as hell and we're going to take it some more."
