Golf.com held a nice roundtable discussion about Tom Watson's British Open efforts.
When this happens, I wonder … how can it be a roundtable discussion when it's written?
And … is the table really round, or are they sneaking a rectangle discussion by us here?
At any rate, it had a nice summary, including this round point from Damon Hack, the round mound of round dimpled ball sports: "As writers, we root for the story, and a Watson win would have transcended golf and made for one joyride of a Sunday-night write. Who knows when this opportunity will ever come again."
Joyride? The Dragster is a joyride. Tom Watson would have been endearing.
Clearly, that statement sounds like it came from an oblong table.
i feel worse for stewart cink. every golf fan wanted watson to win and when he didn't stu got a quick congrats and an even quicker "now f- off so i can attend the watson pity party".
