It's a shame nobody knows any Zevon song after his "Excitable Boy" album. How many guys would ever write a song about Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini and then release it? Pretty cool. He wrote a long of songs about real people, but next to nobody can name even one. A shame.
Too bad Zevon never thought of a song about Danny Ferry's playing career. "Werewolves of the Italian League" would have been right in Zevon's wheelhouse. At least he got to sing about Ferry's future GM career when he wrote "Leave My Monkey Alone" and about Ferry's general overall fragrant career in "Sentimental Hygiene." Thank God for that.
that week of zevon on letterman before he died was some of the best music i've ever seen on the box.

pat's got me inspired. zevon's going up on my site today.
I thought I inspired you to be the catalyst for Pat to inspire you. I'm hurt.
What did I mean when I wrote the sentence "a long of songs about real people…" I just noticed that. I think I meant a lot of songs.
