Starting at quarterback for Minnesota …

After listening to Brett Favre last night, is there any doubt who the Vikings starting quarterback will be in the Browns season opener?

I cannot stomach listening to one word out of that phoney's two-faced, egotistical mouth. As a Green Bay caller to Jim Rome stated today, we're waiting for someone to "go Theisman" on Favre's leg. And he meant bones sticking out and everything. Once and for all, this guy has GOT to go away. That's the only way the media will stop lapping up the slop he puts out for his own self-serving benefit every off-season. He is now less tolerable than even the Speidi kooks from The Hills & I'm a Celebrity.

brett favre's mood swings are disturbing. i'm putting him in my 2010 dead pool.

As a Vikings fan, I fully support the Vikings in their pursuit of Favre for three main reasons (only though, if his arm recovers fully after surgery) :

    1. Can he be worse than what we already have? Other options include a career backup in Rosenfels, who makes bad decisions in vital parts of the game, and Jackson, who's inconsistency has hindered his success thus far. Sure Favre will throw some interceptions, but his gunslinger mentality leads me into my next point.

    2. Two years ago, Thomas Jones looked to be on the downslope of his career with his performance slipping. Last year Jones looked phenominal in many games and partial credit must be given to the threat of Favre being able to challenge the secondary, even with a mediocre receiving corps. Just forcing the defense to respect the pass opens things up for All Day Peterson and our newest gamebreaker, Harvin.

    3. Lastly for all Vikings fans who don't want to sign Favre because of his lifelong career for the opponent we despise, that is a poor excuse. Everybody must admit we never looked foward to facing Favre and the Packers because they would bring it year in and year out. As fans our goal should be improving our team for a more successful year, rather than sit content with the mediocrity we currently have.

Again, this is under the event of full recovery of the throwing shoulder/arm.

DEAR WHOMEVER – WHY WOULD WE SIGN A 40 YEAR OLD QB FOR 10 MILLION DOLLARS. I UNDERSTAND MICAEL VICK IS NOW A FREE AGENT. HE WOULD BE WORTH NOT A WHOLE LOT, THUS SIGN VICK FOR 2000000 AND SIGN CHESTOR TAYLOR TO A LONG CONTRACT. NOW YOU HAVE VICK JACKSON SAGE AND BOOTY. WITH VICK AP CT IN THE BACK FIELD RUNNING GAME 3000 YARDS BETWEEN THE THREE OF THEM.THUS THE RECEIVING TEAM 2000 YARDS FOR THE YEAR. THEY WOULD AVERAGE 400 YARDS IN OFFENSE PER GAME. IF YOU WT TO GET CREATIVE VICK BACKUP SAGE BOOTY TRADE TARVARIS FOR AQ DRAFT PICK NEXT YEAR..

Leave it alone let the team do what they have to do to win. If it takes Favre so be it quite bitchen.

I don't think anybody is really shooting flaming arrows at Minnesota. It's directed at Favre. This guy is like a boxer who calls press conferences to retire and unretire a thousand times. Especially when you consider his teary waterworks, it's comical in a pathetic kind of way.

Sure, he's better than what the Vikings have at quarterback now. But he's a parody.

  7. Petar says:

BOTTOM LINE: If the Vikings are stooping so low as to consider the kook Favre or the ex-con Vick for their starting QB position, the organization needs to take a real look in the mirror to see just how far the franchise has fallen.

  8. Sonny says:

If the Farve thing falls thru, I hear the Vikings are also pretty high on a new guy named Chaz Bono.

  9. John K. says:

Give it a rest all of you. #1 The Vikes are 0 for 47 years, what do they have to lose? #2 The NFL is entertainment at the end of the day and what would be more entertaining that watch Farve play for Minnesota in Green Bay? #3 Anyone who knows football knows the Vikings just need a guy at QB who can read a blitzing defense and throw the slant on time and on target, that equals Brett Farve. Good for him and Minnesota.

"2 The NFL is entertainment at the end of the day and what would be more entertaining that watch Farve play for Minnesota in Green Bay?"

that looks like the kornheiser bowl to me. you and tony might like "the stories" associated with the game but i'd rather watch the better half of the league play.

I am sick of this Brett Favre thing… He has consistantly shown a lack of integrity over the last two years that has been matched only by his decline of play. I would strongly suggest that any Favre supporters look up his end of the season play over the last four seasons…. not good. And at forty years old, it's not going to get better. Why would I want an old, broken down, has-been quarterback who has been our arch-nemesis for the vast majority of his career? Let's get real and quit listening to the Brett Favre slobber from the media. I've had enough.

  12. jman917 says:

if his arm is healthy he might be the best qb the purple has had in years, great defense, decent recievers, and all day peterson, we have a chance….

  13. Jason says:

I'd still go with Chaz Bono. Easier to spell. Fewer interceptions. Hates Palin.
