I was sitting at the Indians game Tuesday night when Chris Gimenez came up with the bases loaded. Gimenez, a right-handed hitter, was facing Milwaukee's fine-young right-handed pitcher Yovani Gallardo. This was a chance to break open the game, so I wondered why Eric Wedge would not use a left-handed pinch-hitter. So Sheldon Ocker, the Beacon Journal's fine Indians beat writer, looked up available pinch hitters. He mentioned Trevor Crowe, Jamey Carroll and Jhonny Peralta. And suddenly I realized why Wedge was not using a pinch hitter.
A thought from the Indians game vs. Milwaukee

Pat, I'm curious. Why have you filed this post under "Indians" *and* "Adriana Lima?" I know Ocker has sexy gams and is known in the male modeling world as "smoking hot," but I think you're going overboard here. Seriously.
Now, you're not suggesting that the Indians don't have a productive bench, are you? Just like they didn't have an effective bullpen last night? Or that they never have competent, flexible, and creative management? Cuz' I would just hate it if you were saying that….because I wish it wasn't true!!!
There is just so much to do, to fix, to replace, it's more than a Wahoo-loving man can stand. But, please, ooooh please, let it begin with a special night at Progressive Field: "Johny Peralta Is Fed to Lions Night" This is the best way to give us all hope for a future – to send this bone-headed, non-clutch hitting, crummy fielding, baseball mistake into oblivion.
Either a mistake or wishful thinking Alan. I miss the old gal — course she is betrothed.
she's more than betrothed.
she's knocked up.
Are we talking about Lima or Ocker?
because they cut left handed hitting dave dellucci
While were at it , can someone tell me why they let Garko stand and eat all night on first base ? I could see it if we had a 4 game lead in our division ,but being dead last in the worst division in baseball sends a bad message .
Regarding Garko: Wedge has said in the past—for good reason—that if Garko can't hit, he won't play. He has shown the past two seasons, for literally MONTHS on end, that he cannot be relied upon. Don't feed me the crap about all his RBIs. They come in short bunches when the pressure is off. Garko has become a .250 hitter with little power or clutch ability. He's killing us, and Shapiro MUST wake up to this fact: The future is not Garko; get rid of this slacker. Your manager doesn't even like him.
Now, I like Gimenez, too. But Jamie Carroll is Mr. Clutch. I would've used him to pinch-hit, even on his (sigh) "off day." These guys act like they've run a marathon if you simply ask them to take three swings of a bat. Unreal.
Perhaps the bench will improve in the coming weeks as Grady and Cabrera return.
Hopefully the same can be said of the pitching staff as Jake and Laffey are what, another 10 days away?
