Never know what you'll find at the end of a Sunday notes column

This little ditty was tucked at the end of a Sunday notes column by Marc Spears of the Boston Globe: "Two NBA general managers said Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert has been on a rampage since his team was eliminated by the Magic, pointing fingers all over the organization for not making it to the Finals, including questioning the front office about trades not made."

I guess the question is, why does it take someone in BOSTON to uncover this story? Time for a little wake-up call in CavsLand? Well, Mr. Gilbert hired both Ferry and Brown, who were in WELL OVER THEIR HEADS this year. Those 66 wins don't mean much when you're not consistently beating the league's top teams. Think the owner senses his investment slipping away, or is he just an uber-perfectionist who will not settle for second-best? I guess I don't mind that approach. What can you do about being completely outcoached? Worse yet, what can you do when your talent-level is so, so, so low….that after LeBron, even the 6th man off the benches of Boston, Orlando and LA would be our 2nd-best player? Somethin's bad wrong here.

Oh, come on, Jason. You don't think the beat writers in town didn't know? Please. What they know and what they print are two completely separate animals. Kind of like Chuck Norris and his toupee.
