Broussard: Cavs lack the stars

Chris Broussard of ESPN.com has an interesting analysis of the Cavs that states they have LeBron James and a bunch of role players. "Smart, savvy, hard-nosed role players, but role players nonetheless," Broussard writes. "The Cavs are the only team in the NBA that's even close to title contention with only one star."

I'll put Broussards piece in my "No Poop, Sherlock!" file, though after watching Howard push everyone around for six games have to question the "hard-nosed role players" part.

Broussard's phony baloney "credit" comment in reference to the Gilbert/Ferry tandem (uh, yeah, sure, it was *Phoenix* who had second thoughts and decided to hold tight at the trade deadline) tells me that Broussard still has some some emotional ties to the team from his days working as a Cavs beat writer. Or perhaps he doesn't want to piss off Ferry, who may be one of his regular leaks … uh, I mean sources. Because it's either all that, or Broussard just enjoys smoking a mean bong.
