Offseason NFL rankings are done for fun, and … nowadays … for blog posts. We gotta have something, right?
The Browns don't fare well. In fact, Si.com's Peter King ranked them 32nd, which would be dead stinking last. King tries to be upbeat, but concludes: "Too many holes, too tough a division; write them down for 0-4 against the Steelers and Ravens."
They fare a little better in the rankings of Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com. But not much. "New coach Eric Mangini will build this team the way he wants it. But one has to wonder if that's a good thing considering his Jets history," wrote Prisco, who ranked the Browns (gulp) 30th.
Last year they had the Browns winning the division–look how that turned out.
the browns deserve to be lower than last.
I don't understand what Prisco is saying. Under Mangini, the Jets had a winning record 2 out of the 3 years he was there.
Mangini is being very secretive to the media (not giving them much to fill thier spaces.) So they can't really write much.
32nd sounds about right to me.
I think it's kind of funny. All the media guys everywhere, whether they're newspaper, digital, radio or television, all of them talk about how Mangini is going to build the team the way he wants it. Never once do they even remotely consider his purported boss to be the one making any of the decisions. It's always Mangini, Mangini, Mangini.
Kokonis, that poor guy. Every time he takes off his pants at night, he must feel like he's swinging around a two-incher.
