So now it's dead? The New York Dailly News reports that the much-discussed trade that would send Braylon Edwards to the New York Giants is dead.
Done.
Finished.
Over.
Finito.
Brayloned, as in dropped.
Reports the News: "According to a source familiar with the situation, the Giants no longer see any hope of acquiring the Cleveland receiver and are moving forward with their plans to take a receiver early in the NFL draft. "
The reason? The Giants refuse to give up their first-round pick, and the Browns refuse to
budge on wanting the first-round pick. That's what the Browns should receive, so good for them if they're not budging.
Hardly. These things have 83 different lives as the draft approaches, and it's amazing how they can change on draft day as well. Believe it's dead when the Giants actually select another player.
By the way … if it does die, the most unhappy person about this will be Braylon Edwards.

I agree this deal ain't dead. Might even end up being next year's 1st rounder. I'm still hoping for a deal involving D.A. and the Jets especially if Freeman is gone before they pick…I'd take their 2nd rounder. While I'm dreaming, if Sanchez is there at 5, let's hope that lunatic Redskins owner picks up the phone.
"Brayloned, as in dropped." Fantastic.
Hey Braylon….how're those Wolverines doin'? ha ha!!
By the way, anyone who doesn't think Braylon is in love with his own looks (probably kisses the mirror just like A-Rod) and plans to become an *actor* (and boy, do I use the term loosely) just isn't paying attention.
Much like Edwards doesn't pay attention when the ball is heading his way.
I don't understand this. All because Mangini is unable to deal with people. Even with Edwards' dropsie problem, defenses still respect him, as they have to. So if somebody like Crabtree was still available at the 5th spot, they'd have speed that defenses would have to respect on both sides of the quarterback. Lewis is washed up, they're going to need a potent passing game. Dumping Edwards, and just sticking another guy in his place, I think this is going to be just stupid.
as stupid as this scenario is i don't think it's fair to blame staypuft mangini. edwards has been crying about being on the browns for quite a while now. it's pretty hard to justify keeping a guy who doesn't want to play for the team. there is a good chance his brain catches up to his talent as he gains a little maturity and he will play well for whoever picks him up. unfortunately, he is currently a drooling idiot with a ton of talent and he's already made up his mind about playing football in cleveland.
