Detroit and Chicago play tonight in a game that will go a long way toward determining the Cavs first-round opponent. If the Pistons win both their final games, they move to the seven seed. If they lose one, they're the eighth seed. Does it matter?
"A rookie coach, a second-year point guard, a failed four-month attempt to integrate Allen IversonĀ and lingering injuries to Rasheed Wallace and Richard Hamilton pretty much doomed this team to mediocrity," wrote the Detroit News. "To think the Pistons, in the final week of the season, are going to find a gear or a rhythm they haven't had all season and shock the world in the playoffs is wishful thinking at best."
I'm far more concerned that Mark "The Bird" Fidrych, Harry Kalas and Marilyn Chambers all just died within 24 hours of each other. Spooky. A guy who talked to the ball, a guy who announced balls, and a broad who played with … you get the idea.
