The best team in the NBA this regular season? Your Cleveland Cavaliers. Methinks Wednesday night's season finale at the Q is going to be the biggest party this side of New Year's Eve. The first-round playoff opponent will be Detroit, which lost to Chicago Monday night. When those games start, things can get serious. But the next couple days are about enjoying one of the most impressive regular seasons not just for this team but for any team.
Where did it all start? I think it was back in Boston in May, when LeBron James turned and walked right off the court after the Cavs lost game 7 to the Celtics. No handshakes, no expression, nothing. Just a steady stroll off the court through the crowd to the locker room. That walk off the court led to a mental approach that has not wavered since the first day of training camp, and that's to be the best team in the league.
The Cavs accomplished that in the regular season. The playoffs await — after one more rollicking, fun game Wednesday night at the Q.
on the money pat.
that walk off in boston was a sharp contrast to the hugs, kisses and chuckles lebron used to give opponents before games. it used to kill me watching lebron cozy up to the enemy. when he left the court in boston i knew he had developed that killer instinct players like jordan, kobe and bird have.
awesome season. now it's time to keep the fire burning and tear through some fools in the playoffs.
Hopefully the Cavs will be mindful of the feelings of their opponents on Wednesday… I'd hate to know that an opposing player's feelings were hurt. (talking to you Ray Allen.)
Can Lebron run a mini camp next door and get Fausto's killer instinct back?
