Catching up on the Cavs

A few more items on the team with the best record in the National Basketball Association …

— The Cavs play Boston on Sunday, but they have the chance to clinch home court in the East by beating Philadelphia on Thursday. How will they handle Sunday if they clinch home court? Seems like they'll take it pretty serious.

"We're not trying to take a step back with four games to go until the playoffs," James said. "That's how we've been all year.  We just want to get better."

— Wednesday's win meant the Cavs became the 25th team in NBA history to win 63 or more games in a season.

And they are 38-1 at home.

"What we've been able to do at home is unbelievable," James said.  "It's something that we'll be able to talk about long after we're done playing the game of basketball."

— Cleveland had 19 offensive rebounds in beating Washington, which is pretty much the result of hard work and effort.

– The Cavs are the only team in NBA history to have two 15-game winning streaks at home in the same season. Which is why this home court thing is so important.

Why are they so good at home? Washington coach Ed Tapscott answere that question well.

"For one, they are a very good team.  So, success comes from very good teams with good schemes and good coaching.  The second thing is the great atmosphere.  The house is packed, people are energetic, so anytime you make a mistake, they capitalize.  The energies tend to feed on itself.

"There was a point where we got it close, and all of a sudden they came down in transition and (hit) two big threes, and the place was exploding.  You could just feel the momentum shifting.  So, they ride the momentum of their crowd very, very effectively."
