Hey Wade: Pass the ball

by Pat McManamon on March 31, 2009

in Dwayne Wade, McManamon, NBA

Interesting story by Tim Legler on Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat. Legler opines that Wade is shooting too much and needs to shoot less while Orlando's Dwight Howard needs to shoot more. Why should Wade tone it down? "You won't get by a Boston, Cleveland or Orlando in the playoffs with that one-man approach."

It's just a complete nonsense column, what choice does Wade now have? It's the same problem James had, the difference being James is a larger guy than Wade, so James could compensate more for the lousier aspects of his supporting cast's shortcomings by being able to rebound and bull by other guys. Take away Williams, James would again have to be in full Wade mode. What Wade is doing pretty much alone is amazing. Beasley obviously isn't ready yet to help much.

Speaking of that link and the photo next to it, I watched that Mourning ceremony last night. Jeez, was it long. At least Miami gives these things to their former guys that truly deserve it, unlike the local team. Anyway, I found it quite interesting that when Mourning spoke, he amazing overlooked any mention of the disgusting manner in which he completely screwed the Nets and the Raptors. He talked about everything else that happened during the course of his career and his life, but he got a bad case of amnesia when it came to his totally unprofessional Nets and Raptors fiasco. He basically robbed them like a professional Brink's heist. Kellen Winslow and Braylon Edwards were angels living on a fluffy cloud compared to what that guy did.

I'd like to know what his high school coach and John Thompson might have thought about that bit of tomfoolery. Maybe that kidney thing made Mourning forget and lose that particular index card.

Also, yesterday I read they've figured out a way to take a person's kidney out through a vagina. Modern science at its most innovative. I don't know what this has to do with 'Zo (I've never seen him naked), but I thought I'd mention this anyway.
