The Today show interviews Michael Phelps

The more you read about Michael Phelps, the more you realize he's pretty much a young goof just out of college who happens to be a really fast swimmer on Wheaties boxes or some other endorsement vehicle.

I think it's kind of cool that he's a goof. Not much pretense.

Speaking of pretense, can you please rip Mangini a new one? I just finished reading in the Boston Globe that he didn't want to walk his lard ass down to the first floor, so at a cost of over half a million bucks, he had the video room moved from the first floor up to the second floor.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, math was never my strong suit, but 500,000 divided by 10 = 50,000. Thus, with that same money, 10 office employees could have each been paid $50,000, plus benefits, for one year.

  2. I've written about that Alan. And when I do people criticize me for being too negative.

you were too positive when romeo was still coach, now you need to be negative for a while to balance it out.

    ha ha ha!!

I thought you had only written about his various LeRoy Neiman wall painting projects and his Better Homes & Gardens player's lounge/locker room project. Sorry, I must have missed your piece about his Spielberg video room/Penske moving truck project. God forbid this guy would have needed to walk a few steps. I don't care if he ends up 16-0 every season, he stinks.

I know Eric Barton is a pretty good LB. After Andre 'speed merchant' Davis, the neighbor's fat golden retriever would be an improvement. The concern is the photo in the PD appears to be that of a 57 year old janitor.
