So anyone who listens to Jim Rome probably understands I appreciate his sense of humor. Lately, he's been busting out (note the Rome term) the old Benny Hill theme song. And every time he does it's hard not to pull the car over because you're laughing so hard. Classic. Check it out.
Thing is, that show never seemed that funny. All that goofy British humor. But the song … listened to by itself … classic.
At least I'm not the only one who fails to see the "humor" in British humor. That's a funny song, though.
Rome was just a relative kid at the time, but he lost it all for me when I was saw him live, on the old ESPN sibling, being bitch-slapped by Jim Everett. If there was ever somebody who deserved the public humiliation, it was Rome.
While I'm at it, does he really think his skin is black with that moronic vocabulary? Who's he really kidding? I know it's all for show, but come on. I can't imagine he talks "smack" with his wife.
I was debating posting this when I first saw it a few weeks ago, but I never bothered. Most people here don't even know who the hell Benny Hill was. And they only know Dylan from those painfully embarrassing sellout commercials run during the Super Bowl. But what the hell, Pat opened the fossil door.

I like Rome, too, but he's gone overboard with the Sax song, and the running Rex interviews. I was done at Rex Hughes.
To Rome's credit, he does make fun of himself about the "Chris" Everitt episode. His show is entertaining, but he does tend to fixate on some subjects for too long, and I get tired of the 20 "FIRST NAME freaking LAST NAME" emails he reads after every interview he does. I mean, he's a host…he's supposed to conduct good interviews with interesting people, isn't he?
I'd rather listen to him anyday over Kenny Rhoda, though. A Steelers fan on a Browns' Town radio station? I mean, really…Also, warming the bench on the B-W basketball team doesn't make you an expert on the sport…
