Please, media (and yes, I'm talking to you, Dr. Know-Nuthin-About-Baseball Mike Triv.): STOP using Tribe injuries as an excuse for this poor start!!! The rash of (ahem) "injuries" started WELL AFTER the offense had tanked the first 50 games!!! Yeah, it's unusual now to have so many folks on the (ahem) DL, but the fact is: THIS TEAM DOES NOT HIT.

Tom Hamilton actually made me chuckle last night during the 12-2 rout, saying "THIS is the one-thru-nine offensive philosophy that Eric Wedge preaches." Hey, it only took 68 games to work! ha ha ha ha. But seriously, EVERY team has the occasional one-thru-nine outburst; please don't buy into the ridiculous hype that this team is built or equipped to utilize that lame propaganda any more often than a scant few times each year.

So, at this point, what do they have to lose?
I think the amount of injuries may help - they've been written off, no one has any expectations for them - now they can just play. Watch them go on a run...

To even mention injuries is a joke, isn't it? This team hasn't put together any inspired play all season.

Young players who get called up to good teams tend to feed off that success and do well, at least initially. Young players called up to turn a team's fortunes around struggle.

OUTRAGE is my gut reaction. Really, Mark? You can't look back and see one single thing you could've & should've done in the off-season? You really don't think that one big bat might've given Victor, Hafner & Garko some protection in the order & possibly ignited some offense? You really didn't think that giving up a couple minor-leaguers from your pitching depths was worth it to upgrade a morobund offense? Did you not see the 2-month stretch last year when your team (non-)performed just like they have for 67 games now?

Last year's team/offense was built on a house of cards. And it all caved in at one point. Frankly, how that group rebounded to hit and win is beyond me. But consider last year their "career year"...and don't bank on a repeat from these stiffs you've assembled. After this interview, if I were the Dolan family, you'd be looking for new work. It is your JOB to prepare for collapses like this---especially when you got an extended "preview" of this mess last year. Only the pitching saved your butt then, and the way they hurled, this that team should have won WELL OVER 100 GAMES in 2007 (go back and look at the losses). But your "far, far overrated" batsmen prevented it.
