Friday, April 18th, 2008The bosses decided I should give this blog thing a fresh try. It does seem to be all the rage these days. Everyone – including, probably, the neighbor’s kid in the garage – is doing one.
It’s like Old MacDonald — here a blog, there a blog, everywhere a blog blog. Or something like that.
This blog thing does provide a few things. It allows me to take a sometimes serious, sometimes quirky, sometimes ridiculous view of the world of sports. And perhaps of the world in general.
Someone showed me a blog from The Atlantic where the guy asks those reading to send him a picture out their window. The view from your window, or something insightful like that is what he calls it.
It’s kind of an interesting idea.
I’d do the same, except it’s a blatant ripoff of a good idea.
Then again, so were the second set of radial tires.
Perhaps, though, we should do “view of your bathroom” or “view of your closet.” Who knows, it might provide a decorating idea to those of us who need to update the bathroom.
Speaking of bathrooms, one of the many web sites had a new commode pictured this past week. It’s two toilets, actually, side by side and connected. Those who … ahem … sit on these thrones face opposite directions, but do get to share the moment.
Now really, folks.
Does this not take togetherness about 80,000 miles too far?
Somebody actually had to sit down and think of this contraption. And in this instant information world where everyone knows everything about everybody, it’s news.

Or more correctly, see the value of this blog?
At any rate, spent some time this afternoon (Friday) at the Cavs interview session heading into their playoff series against Washington.
Wrote a column for tomorrow’s paper on how the Cavs are basically shrugging off all the trash talk coming from the Wizards.
