A voice of reason … from Washington

By Pat McManamon

Antawn Jamison is a pro. Always has been. Be a great addition to the Cavs, if ever the money and wherewithal could be found to add him. Jamison was the one who stated clearly after Game 2 that he knew the Cavs were a good team and he did not want one statement ("overrated") from a couple months ago to define how his team viewed Cleveland, because he said it was not accurate.

Jamison had this to say to the Wizards media on Tuesday: "All this talking through the media about this or that is really beneath me, and I'm kind of disappointed that my teammates kind of bought into it. We've got to do more of letting our game do the talking. I've been saying that from day one."

The opposite of reason? Check this picture to see what DeShawn Stevenson wore as he and his team arrived in Cleveland today.

Why'd you just link to a story in which the writer destroys your column (and rightfully so - it was a painfully sanctimonious piece)?

I'm a Cavaliers fan, born and bred, but Pat - give me a break. We ALL know school shootings and tornadoes are more important than LeBron or DeShawn. Maybe you're too wrapped up in this to realize that many of us fans actually have gotten our priorities straight. Perhaps you should do the same.

    Pat, you're an idiot.

You're article on "taking out the garbage" was one of the worst examples of journalism that I have ever seen.

You fail to mention the throat slashing gesture that Damon Jones did against the Wiz earlier this year (look it up on Youtube), you failed to mention that LeBron just got assessed a flagrant 1 for elbowing Andray Blatch after the game was already decided (funny how the NBA doesn't announce this), and you failed to mention that this whole DeShawn/LeBron issue started with LeBron saying some not so kind words about DeShawn and Drew Gooden heard it and told DeShawn. But instead you make out the Cavs to be heroes, the perfect team, in the perfect city.

I hope your team beats the Wizards tonight.

Oh if you're so concerned about other stories about people getting killed and tornadoes, why aren't you writing about them?

I wonder if you'll ever get a better job writing for a more respectable newspaper someday - I think not.
