So you check online and see that Akron is up 2-0 over Ohio State in the first half, and you start to channel flip to see the game. At halftime, the score is 3-2, which allows you to dream — what an upset this would be!
So you go to watch. Alas, the Big Ten network is not carried on your cable system, so you're out of luck. Just like you were out of luck last week when Michigan lost to Appalachian State.
Of course, the Big Ten needs its network to increase its bank account. Showing games on free networks naturally no longer cuts it.
And the cable companies … well if someone can explain this tier and premium stuff to me then they understand the NFL's tuck rule.
As you're left to follow the internet or radio regarding Akron-Ohio State, you just think … sometimes the TV system just stinks.

I don't understand this warped sense of entitlement that we are supposed to be able to see every game of every college team on free TV. There once was a time when next to no Ohio State football games were on TV. That's pay, free or otherwise. And I was paying a freakin' cable bill at the time! But I wasn't whining and stamping my feet like an infant with colic. Oh, my, I wasn't allowed to see the Buckeyes kick the crap out of Rice, Indiana and whatever other pieces of garbage were on the field until the Michigan game. My world nearly ended. I don't know how I made it to 2007 alive.

Thanks Lou. Have you seen Ted?
