Why do 103,000 Ohio State fans let the school get away with playing Kent State, Akron and Youngstown State in the same season?

I just don't see why folks waste their money on these type of games, just go out and burn $200 in the driveway.

Kent State coach Doug Martin already has said that he is planning on playing a lot of backups not in the second half or second quarter, try the second series. This isn't the preseason! So if the teams don't care why should the fans?

I know this goes on at a lot of big schools, but three times in one season is weak.

Three schools with no chance to win yet more than 300,000 folks will have watched these games.

At the end of the day, Ohio State and Kent State will cash checks. And we will let them get away with it.

Go play with your kids, rake leaves, take walk or a nap, there has to be a better way to spend your time and money.

Doug Martin deserves a pat on the back today with the way his Flashes went on the road to a Big 12 school and came away with a victory.

The quarterback, Julian Edelman, engineered several scoring drives, and running back Eugene Jarvis had more than 100 yards and a touchdown.

I know it was Iowa State and not Texas, but it is tough for your first game to be on the road at any BCS school.

The Flashes didn't even play their best game, with three bad turnovers in the red zone, but they controlled the ball late to win 23-14.

Next week, is another tough trip, this time to an SEC school, Kentucky.

From the way the program has played the past few seasons, don't be surprised to see the Flashes standing at 2-0 after that one.

College basketball took the first step forward (or should I say backward) in moving the 3-point line Thursday.

Here is the AP story info: Two decades after adding the 3-point line, the NCAA men's basketball rules committee approved a measure Thursday that will move the line back one foot ` from 19 feet, 9 inches to 20 feet, 9 inches. If approved by the playing rules oversight committee on May 25, it would mark the first major change to 3-pointers since their adoption.¶ The change would not take place until November 2008.¶

I think it would be great to make the shot a little more difficult, and it might help us in international basketball, as well. Plus it might bring the mid-range jump shot back to the game.
