I am the Deputy Sports Editor for the Akron Beacon Journal. I am going to use this blog as a place to have a forum on local and national sports, maybe even a little on national politics, if I can't help myself.
I am married with two kids, both of whom love to play and to watch sports.
I grew up in the Pittsburgh area and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh.
I came to the Beacon Journal in August 2000, so I have an idea what gets sports fans in Northeast Ohio excited — football, football and more football. Don't tell anyone, but it is the same in Pittsburgh.
