So it was so

Posted April 16th, 2008 by Ron

Now it seems that Joe Borowski was hurt, and from what I get from the articles, the Indians knew it.

What is up with that?

Now he is hurt bad enough that he will be out for about a month. Ridiculous.

Most would think that baseball players, especially pitchers, are babied too much. But here is a case where the team needs to be made more important than the individual.

Remember these games and management decisions come September.

By the way, the best way to screw up a bullpen is to have a bunch of poor starts from the rotation. The next way is to put the relievers in roles they aren't used to. For next month or more, that will be the case for the Indians.

Masa Kobyashi's name isn't even in the mix as a late-inning possibility? Exactly what did we bring this guy here for? Long relief? He saved over 200 games in Japan, and is probably 200% better than JoBlow right now. You see what a basic "rookie" does for you in the 9th with Jensen Lewis last night. And Betancourt is 12 for 29 in save situations…anyone recall those tape-measure HRs he's prone to surrender at crunchtime?

But all of this means nothing if the offense continues its standard routine. How punchless can one lineup be?

Maybe they can get that gay Japanese guy back from Japan to pitch in tight spots. So to speak.
