C.C. has always struggled when he pushes too hard, which might be what happens until he signs a new contract.

But he's gotten better at handling his emotions every year. He's still a left-hander who throws in the mid-90s, wins games at a pace that could get him into the hall of fame, just won the Cy Young and is just entering his prime.

I'd say he is worth "something close" to $20 million, if anyone is.

McManaman's still working on his schtick but at least he's been working on getting word count down a little, lately. The signoff doesn't bother me much because it comes as a relief but the "Beside the Point" header doesn't make sense unless it's some copy editor's prank.

Anyone still ready to back up the Brinks truck to C.C.'s front door?

Anyone think that Aaron Laffey and his great sinkerball wouldn't be doing at least as, uh, "good" as C.C. this season?

Everyone needs to get a grip, and realize that just because C.C. is big, has been here a long time, and occassionally throws a nice game, he is BY NO MEANS irreplaceable. And most certainly not worth anything c-l-o-s-e to $20-mil. What are people smokin', anyway?

Seriously, Ron, ask your boss if I can have your job? How long did it take for you to assemble this steaming pile of "journalism"? Stayed up all night I'm sure…

Coming tomorrow on Ohio.com, is The Balanced Ledger trying to sound like a respectable journalistic article instead of a 10 year old with a laptop in front of him, and other random thoughts.

"McManamon" and "other random thoughts" is redundant.

And Ron, what's the deal with his outright theft of Pluto's pretentious one-sentence paragraph style? I know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but you'd think that McManamon would steal … uh, I mean imitate something that deserves some semblance of flattery.

Lastly, for God's sakes, for the love of all that is holy, please tell the guy to lose that incredibly stupid Sunday column signoff catchphrase. Walter Cronkite he's not.
