Tom Brady?

Is Tom Brady really worthy of being considered the best quarterback ever?, or the best football player ever?

I don't think so. Maybe I can't see the forest for the trees but he just doesn't make the cut in my opinion.

I saw an article today on SI.com where Frank Deford wrote that we are seeing three of the greatest athletes ever, Roger Federer, Tiger Woods and Brady.

I think he is off base with Brady being with those two.

Brady is in line to get his fourth Super Bowl trophy in seven seasons next Sunday. Terry Bradshaw got four in six. I do think both are Hall of Famers but neither should be in the same sentence with Dan Marino, John Unitas or John Elway. Brett Favre and Peyton Manning deserve mention, but Brady, I don't think so.

What do you all think?

First, I think you should include Otto Graham in the discussion.

But I tend to agree with you on Brady but can't come up with any good reasons … He's not as exciting as someone like Elway but his performance has always been outstanding and clutch. Plus, he's still young and may win a few more Super Bowls. What if he wins six or seven?

I think Frank Deford has the greatest pencil mustache ever.

Some might argue John Waters' 'stash is right there too, alan, but I have to agree with you.

I think you made one fatal error. Montana was the best ever and was documented by John Madden, Steve Walsh and many other4s who knew somwthing about football!

Steve Walsh? Who the hell is Steve Walsh?

Oh, wait a minute, I know. Steve Walsh was the lead singer of Kansas. But Steve Walsh was a football coach? Wow, I did not know that.

Hey, wait a minute … I think that's Montana playing drums.

Seriously, I want to know who this legendary Steve Walsh football genius is. If he's not the lead singer from Kansas, then who is he? Perhaps the last poster was merely speaking of Tony Montana, and Steve Walsh was an extra in the final scenes when Montana dumped his own his face in a vast mini-mountain of cocaine.

Think about this objectively….. If ANY quarterback had as much time as Brady does to throw the ball, THEY would be considered the greatest. BUT, we all saw how good he is when he gets presurred…very average at best. Heck under pressure I would take Eli manning over Brady, look what he did under enormous pressure in the Super bowl. Brady is grossly overrated.
