Tigers growl

Posted December 5th, 2007 by Ron

Wow. That is all I can say to describe the Tigers lineup after their trade to get Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis:

CF-Granderson
2B: Polanco
RF: Ordonez
DH: Sheffield
3B: Cabrera
1B: Guillen
SS: Renteria
C: Rodriguez
LF: Jones/Thames platoon

That lineup is better than the Yankees. The rotation is Justin Verlander, Jeremy Bonderman, Willis, Nate Robertson and whoever they drop in

The bullpen is a question, but that is true with just about every team.

This probably will force the Indians hand in adding a quality left fielder. Jason Bay, anyone?

What's so great about Jason Bay? A dude that's addicted to strikeouts and has a tricky knee. This will help offset the Tigers' moves? Besides, I don't trust any guy whose sister is a professional softball player. There's something not kosher about that.

If they really want to make some moves, then trade Sabathia, and do it yesterday.

Carl Crawford was the guy but that ship has now sailed unless the D-Rays are flat out giving up.

I think I saw that the Tigers will "drop in" Kenny Rogers as fifth starter, which is not too bad. He has more experience than Laffey.
