For once, I actually agree with Alan T. The Cavs are SOOOOO hard to watch. That plodding excuse for an offense, one brick after another clanging off the rim, while other teams simply set up...and SWISH! Any coach or front office that believes fans just want to watch "good defense" are kidding themselves. Defense is boring...and please don't hand me that crap about "defense winning championships." There has to be an OFFENSE to go with it! Just ask the Spurs!!

Do you think I would ever, ever spend $95 for a ticket to watch a Cavs game, when they are subject to their Opening Night performance, when they (quote) "didn't play with energy, didn't play hard, etc."?? Shouldn't we paying customers get a refund for a jip like that?

Last year's Browns were UNWATCHABLE, just as the Tribe was for much of this season! Why?? No offense!! Are these Cleveland teams just trying to bore the fans to death????

Ron, really, why even throw a reader a bone? I just re-read your response ... you clearly don't think the Cavs are worth watching, you think James is worth watching. So why not just say it? Take away James, and even Fratello's boring methodical approach had greater entertainment value for the masses. The Cavs aren't merely boring to watch, they're often downright ugly. Boring and ugly. And yet, Gilbert and his lackeys were able to con over 16,000 season-ticket holders to actually pay for it. It's like paying high ticket prices to see a great actor perform in a bad movie. Just say it. Who are you going to offend, Johnny?

Yes, Johnny, you're absolutely right, if there's anything I want more of, it's more blind fawning over Cleveland sports front offices and the Buckeyes. There's just not enough of that in the Akron and Cleveland area newspapers and blogs. We need much more.

Ron, return to your Pennsylvania Amish brethren. You anti-Ohio heathen.

And Johnny, I have one extra Blue Jackets ticket for tomorrow night's game against Chicago. Wanna come with me? If you do, here's a brief hockey primer: the red line is red, the blue line is blue.

Anti-Ohio? What is wrong with saying Ohio State is going to the Rose Bowl and the Browns are going to the playoffs. What I am not doing is getting caught up in the emotions. Ohio State has had trouble with spread offenses and Illinois exploited that. The Browns' defense is the worst in the NFL statistically and the Steelers exploited that. The Cavs lack weapons, but at the end of the day, if they play solid defense they are going to the playoffs. Are these championship teams? No. Are the worth watching? Yes.

I agree. Ledgard is anti-Ohio. He should go back to PA and enjoy his hockey. This blog is almost a big of a joke as the beacon journal.

Shut up, man. Not that bad? We lost a National Championship, dude. For some teams, that's a once in a lifetime deal. How the Bucks could have such a letdown on Senior Day at home with so much riding on the outcome is mind-boggling.

And the Browns losing to Pittsturd...not that bad?! How many times do we have to get our hopes up, only to have it all crash down? I think we all knew that a 21-9 halftime lead was n-o-t-h-i-n-g. Derek Anderson showed that he is Derek Anderson. Can we please temper the excitement over a guy who has excelled against winless Miami and St. Louis? Maybe all the "trade Brady" nonsense will end now. Not that bad...yeah, right. (And the Billick note is nothing compared to what he has to face everyday: his reflection.)
