Quinn in
Just in time for the first game, Brady Quinn signs.
I still don't think he will see much, if any time, on the field in the regular season.
And if he does, then it won't be a good sign for the Browns.
It should make for an interesting subplot all season-long.

Unless Anderson or Frye turns into a major surprise, or Lewis runs for 1,800 yards and the Browns are in the playoff hunt all year, Quinn will play in the second half, just like he would of if he attended the first practice. He would have been just as lost when he does get in there, too.

Eye candy. But will his performance be sweet? It really IS funny how the entire football world is so focused on Brady's every move, and could really care less about the #1 pick. Could be because the minute Quinn was drafted, he became the best-looking player in the NFL, hands down. Let's hope he can also run a complicated offense.

"Eye candy?" "The best-looking player in the NFL, hands down?" Oy vey. Yep, that's what I've always wanted in my home sports teams. Eye candy. Can never get enough of it. In fact, I'd probably cut Ilgauskas a break if he looked more like Brad Pitt.

I've always contended that Romeo looks like a huskier Blair Underwood.

I think the Browns may have wasted a draft pick on Quinn. No matter what the collegiate accolades a team with three competing and very young QBs doesn't need to draft a fourth. They need to either stand pat at the QB spot or go out and get a veteran signal caller and fill other "needs" via the draft. The fact that they gave up picks in next years draft only makes that pick and trade even worse.
Plus, does Quinn really have much more of an upside than Frye, Anderson, or Dorsey? If so, in what area? I don't think I have seen it from him and as a Columbus resident I've been watching BQ since his sophomore year in high school.
Also, as a U of A alum I have seen a lot of Frye and think that if given more time (both on the field and developmentally) he has the tools to eventually become something special. It has been a long time since I have seen a QB that could make so much happen when a play seemed to be breaking down like Frye did with the Zips repeatedly.
But then again that's just my opinion I guess and I am probably in the minority.

At the 2004 press conference, I was quietly hoping that Garcia was going to finally announce that he's Batman and Quinn is Robin.
Can this trade really hurt? I mean, Paul Warfield wasn't traded, a draft pick was. That trade still pisses me off, but this one doesn't. They already repeatedly tried that "veteran signal caller" strategy, and it failed each and every time. I mean, they're the Tampa Bay Devil Rays of professional football. So who cares? Can't hurt to try.
