Quinn, quiet please

by Ron Ledgard on July 2, 2007

in Brady Quinn, Browns

I keep reading wire reports with Brady Quinn saying how good he is going to be and how he is the player to right the Browns.

I also know that he is performing poorly in workouts and that he is fourth out of four QBs on the depth chart. In other words unless there is a total disaster of a season or injuries, his best friend on the team is going to be the clipboard. And that could be for a couple of seasons.

It might help if Quinn made fewer public appearances/comments and made more plays in practice before he talks about being the Browns QB.

Might help to get that contract signed and out of the way, too. Like, yesterday! No reason for a holdout here, my friend. If you squander the waning "good will" you currently have, this could become another Tim Couch fan-revolt rather quickly. Just take your rookie paycheck, and get to work, man. I'm in your corner, BQ…

I'm all for a quarterback who wants to look confident and headstrong. However, I do have to wonder why the editor of a local paper is reading all these quotes in wire reports. Two thousand word feature stories about assistant coaches are all well and good, I guess, but maybe the beat reporter should try and land an interview with our new Golden Boy.
