The NBA Draft didn't seem to increase the chances of any Eastern Conference team dethroning King James and the Cavaliers.
Now what should GM Danny Ferry do?
I think he needs to address the point guard problem. Chauncey Billups is a free agent but his cost is prohibitive. There are other options, and remember, this guy needs to be a defender first but someone who can hit the occassional jump shot. Steve Blake seems to me to be the best player for that role.
Also, don't be surprised to see Anderson Varejao on another team. The Cavs will pay Varejao the going rate for a sixth man, but if another team offers him a starter's contract, don't expect the Cavs to match it. Look for some type of sign-and-trade deal.
What to do about Larry Hughes? If Ferry can get something for him, good luck, but it seems to me Mike Brown is going to have to figure out a way to keep Hughes in the flow of the game but coming off the bench. At $12 million, that is a luxury the Cavaliers probably can't afford.

When an NBA general manager is actually sitting and contemplating on a piece of pumice rock, and considering if five years of Steve Blake will be the tool to climb the franchise to the top of the mountain, then it's time to toss the general manager off the side of the mountain and call it an "accident."
For once, I agree with A.T. Please, Ferry, no more long-term deals to stiffs like Kevin Ollie! I truly don't believe Gilbert will allow Andy to walk away. He knows Wild Thing is a fan-favorite and great marketing tool. Sasha? I'd wager he's gone.
Does anyone else think the Bulls got themselves their own "Wild Thing" with Miami's Noah? Frankly, they may have gotten the steal of the first round. He has more offensive skills than Andy, and at 6'11" he's a clogger in the middle (at the forward position). BW may not think Chicago has the ability to unseat the Cavs….but sadly, with the current roster compositions, I tend to disagree. Bulls helped themselves a lot.
