Oakland had that great recent staff of Zito & Co. But when contract-time came, "See ya!" And rightfully so. SanFran will NEVER will squat with Zito. Meanwhile, the A's will probably win the West with a rotation most have never heard of. But they're good pitchers, and most will exceed Zito's win total. Someone HAS to draw the line in the sand, and stop paying these salaries. They—and agents—are ruining baseball for all of us. Kudos to Billy Bean and the A's. I wish them great success, simply because of their mid-market formula for success.

(P.S. Shapiro may "try" to emulate Bean, but Bean would never sign ineffective players like Delucci, Nixon, Hernandez, Borowski, Fultz and others….then act shocked when they don't produce. More kudos to Bean for releasing Frank Thomas and now Milton Bradley. LOSING follows those two cancers like stink follows crap.)
