Do they qualify as "news?" Probably not. But most of the country is so illiterate and clueless, the sensational / personal items are as far as they want to think. And as for Stray-Rod, he gets exactly what's coming to him. You cheat on your wife (as a celeb), the whole world will know it. Hope she sues for half of that $250-mill.
