Blue Jackets move

Posted April 19th, 2007 by Ron

It seems to be long past due but the Columbus Blue Jackets fired Doug MacLean on Thursday.

MacLean, their team president and general manager, and the franchise have struggled for many years, but it seemed instead of getting fired MacLean kept getting more titles.

There are truly talented players on the Blue Jackets, but much like the Browns, they don't seem to know how to find their way up the standings.

By the time Ferry has completed his reign of error, any cerebral thoughts on how many different titles he'll have held?

Never mind his incredibly goofy smile, I got a strong sense of where MacLean was going early on…I finally got rid of my season tickets after Year 5. Very bad pro team, nothing in the minor league system to replace them. The immediate future is grim, MacLean torched it.

If there's anything that nearly 40 years of Cavs S&M has taught me is don't be sucked into false hopes and dreams by the incompetent and sometimes shady salesmen selling them.
