Viewing File: "HIMYM," "Big Bang Theory," "Dancing With the Stars" (Updated)

October 13, 2009

VERY fun "How I Met Your Mother" and "Big Bang Theory." The "It Was the Best Night Ever" video, above, isn't quite in the league with "Let's Go to the Mall" or "Sandcastles in the Sand," but it's still amusing. More after the jump. …

Wednesday Notebook

If you haven't seen "Glee" yet and are just hearing good things about it (I like it a lot), the pilot is available for viewing on Hulu.com. If you have seen it, do you share my enthusiasm?
You can find my review of "Terminator Salvation" here. Not my favorite.
My column about the ABC and NBC schedules, [...]

"Dancing With the Stars" Finale

May 19, 2009

It's about 75 minutes into the two-hour telecast, following reappearances by losing contestants, Lady Gaga performing, Jeffrey Ross's roasting and other bits. And now we're about to get something that matters. …. (Spoiler alert: The final result is at the end of this post, after the jump.)

"Dancing With the Stars" Finale Details

May 15, 2009

I've posted the full release after the jump, but here's the key competitive stuff:
"Each couple will take a turn in a section of the song before stepping aside for the next team to showcase their routine — giving judges and viewers a chance to compare the couples alongside each other. In addition, Shawn, Gilles and [...]

"Dancing With the Stars" Top 4 Results

May 12, 2009

"DWTS" managed to run for 50 of its 62 minutes without offering a single result, filling with things like "you pick the pro" for next season, a contest which interests me in only one way: Will a professional chosen by the voting public go into the competition with a built-in voter base? But when the [...]

My review of "Star Trek" is here. It covers most of the same ground as my post here, but I offer it FYI.

"Dancing With the Stars" Performances

May 5, 2009

Well, we had Melissa popping out of her costume Monday night, Ty indicating that a little hip-swaying leads to benefits at home, a Gilles/Cheryl performance that was very hot, an awesome turn from Shawn — and I speed-watched the whole thing this morning — and still, at the end I was ticked off.

"Dancing With the Stars"

April 27, 2009

Instead of spending a lot of time on individual performance recaps, I'm going to ran about one dancer.
It has at times seemed that "DWTS" was very interested in keeping Melissa Rycroft around as long as was humanly possible; she has a fan base; she's also an ABC-made star, thanks to "The Bachelor," and I [...]

Thursday Notebook: "Idol," "DWTS," "Reaper," Some Links

April 23, 2009

Between school and work I have been running hard the last few days, so I apologize for getting backlogged on posting. Let's catch up, starting with next week's "Idol" theme: "standards made famous by members of the original Rat Pack, a group of legendary performers that included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr." [...]

Monday Night Recap: "Dancing With the Stars," "How I Met Your Mother," "2 1/2 Men"

April 14, 2009

I've customarily done in-progress recaps of "DWTS" as it airs, but my schedule and energy level just haven't made that possible lately. I'll show Len Goodman what hectic looks like! I did watch the show, though, and posted a brief note on Twitter and FB. Some longer notes, as well as comments on my Monday [...]
