What a joke this years awards are. Ican live with Carl Reiner. But Mel Brooks, Raymond. You show gunsmoke and bonanza 7 days a week. never a mention of a award for them. What about an tribute to James Arness before he dies.

It seems to me that they (AI) were not going to use the ridiculous "save" this year. All of a sudden, it's back. What do I know–none of the three I had selected for the bottom three made it there. Oh, well. Not exactly a riveting start to the season.

I think "songs from the phone book" will be a theme later this season: 634-5789, 867-5309/Jenny, Beechwood 4-5789, Operator, Long Distance Call, Memphis ("long distance information, give me Memphis, Tennessee"), He'll Have to Go ("put your sweet lips at little closer to the phone") …

Mostly, listening to the contestants made me want to run into the next room and blare some real Stones. It was like eating a meal that looked really delicious, but had no salt and I was desperate for a salt shaker. I did however like some of the performances enough that this is the first time this year I saved it on my DVR to watch again. Frankly, Crystal and Siobhan could sing the phone book and I'd be riveted.

Oh, don't get me wrong: I like Andrew – a lot – but he just sank like a cinder block in the bottom of Lake Michigan last night.

That being said, I don't think any elimination – even Michael, Siobhan or Crystal – would surprise me.

I think Andrew is in trouble, although I liked him more than many. Would also worry for Lacey. And Tim was terrible, so we'll get a sense of how far cute can take you if he survives. Katie has survived worse performances.

I like that Crystal stood up for herself when Simon accused her of thinking she had this all wrapped up – don't shift the blame there, buddy: you guys were the ones who picked out all these also-rans to compete against her

Other than maybe a heavy metal night theme, this was the worst idea ever! NONE of these contestants could pull this songbook off… and I'm not a big Stones fan. It was just bad all around, I couldn't even get that excited for Crystal, she was just the moment of relief at the end.

I think either Andrew or Katie will be going home tonight. I have to say that I liked Paige & Casey – because they were really the only contestants with the "stones" (sorry) to sing an uptempo song. Everyone else (save CB) made it 'their own' and slowed it down or screwed it up some other way.

And, it isn't just that Michael sang well, which he obviously did. He also PERFORMED well. It was like watching something real – not an Idol fabrication. I think Lilly suffered because there are too many quirky girls this year. I'm surprised about Alex, who seems like the perfect candidate for The X Factor.

At this point, I find I'm just upset with the Heroes more than anything, and I'm actually happy to see Tom gone (which surprises me because at one point he was probably my favorite Survivor ever after Rupert). The Villains are more entertaining, and it's almost looking to me like there will be maybe one Hero by the time of the merge.

And I'm also liking Boston Rob this time around! Oddly enough, he's being the voice of reason. Maybe marriage/fatherhood is calming him down a bit.

fox doesn't need to entise viewers to watch the show, rating are up. Fox has not developed a new show for friday nights so they are reairing House episodes that first aired only a couple of weeks ago. Most fans like rewatching the episodes, but not so close to the first airing. Fox needs ratings for firdays and knows that House fans will tune in for any new insights. They know their audience!

I am trying to find out the name and artist of a song that appears in "The Birthday Party". It has an operatic feel to it, sung by a woman. I think it occurs during the swimming pool scene. I have looked for soundtrack into in the past and found some songs but not this one. Can you help?
