A lot of stuff on Thursday. Pre-posted on "30 Rock," below, and got to "Survivor," also below. Not sure when I will get to "Lost" or "CSI" or "Earl." Did manage to see these two. One stumbled, one was steady. And the loser is …

Between Meat and Pizza

Friday, December 7th, 2007

Because I had a gigantic memory lapse last night, I neglected to record most of my Thursday faves, and only saw "Grey's Anatomy" in its entirety because we got home in time.

But, as title of this post indicates, I am catching up thanks to online viewing. Haven't gotten through all of "30 Rock" or "Earl" because, well, I am at the office and can't spend every second watching shows and laughing too loudly. But what I've seen of "30 Rock" has been plenty hilarious, even in the throwaway lines (Jenna's having to get out of bed at 4 a.m. and go home). Good start to "Earl," too, thanks to the Joy-Catalina dozens. As Tracy would say, "BANTER!"

I expect to add more later, assuming I remember to watch "Friday Night Lights."

Friday Morning Backtrack

Friday, November 16th, 2007

I did get through "Earl," "The Office" and "30 Rock." I may post some longer thoughts late. For now, my amusement was at best piecemeal — the Joy stuff in "Earl," the trash-talking in "The Office." …

Thursday Note

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

I have been jammed up. Early Thursday evening I was out (and thank you to the Bath-Richfield Kiwanis for inviting me to speak), I've been staring down some work deadlines and I have had a family issue to handle. So I'm a bit behind on viewing and way behind on posting. I hope to elaborate later today but will make a few brief points now. "The Office" was utterly ridiculous and absolutely hilarious. And "Grey's Anatomy" was pretty uneven; did it not occur to anyone just to have the observation area cleared? And I'm looking foward to a complete viewing of "Survivor: China"; I saw the wild tribal council and the bride tells me that the events leading up to it were priceless — as anything leading to the presentation of a wrong immunity idol would have to be. Anyway, I hope to have more later.

Catching Up: "Pushing Daisies," "Private Practice," "Grey's Anatomy," "Dirty Sexy Money," "House"

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

The scene that persuaded me to watch "Pushing Daisies" at least once more.

(You know, after listening to Chip Caray declare "Here come the Yankees" too many times, it was kind of nice just now to hear Joe Buck punctuate a Cleveland rally with "Here come the Indians." But that's not what I'm here to talk about.)

I think it's "Mad Men" fatigue. That show was so good, other hours are having a hard time measuring up …

"Grey's Anatomy" Tonight

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

Indians win, 12-3 and Kenny Lofton is player of the game. And of the year, considering the boost he has given the Indians and Indians fans this year. The TBS announcers have gone scurrying, since the Cubs-D'backs game is already going, so let's scurry as well — to talking a little "Grey's." …

Friday Morning

Friday, May 18th, 2007

After I finish up some projects, I want to talk more about how good "The Office" was (the look on Pam's face at the end, Jan in Michael's car, Ryan to Kelly … ) and what a drag "Grey's Anatomy" was (except any time James Pickens Jr. and Loretta Devine were working). But until I have time to elaborate, you can check out my review of "Shrek the Third" and a tale of the tape for the "American Idol" final two, where you can find a link to my latest podcast with Malcolm X Abram. (And hear what I sound like with a cold.) Also some reminders of the people "Idol" left behind – until, that is, the tour starts.
