Beach Music

In discussing the House of Heldenfels' recent vacation, I neglected to mention that I took along the iPod and its playlists, some self-made, some Genius-formatted. I did more reading than listening, but there were times when the playlists seemed especially fine for a summer day. Some examples are after the jump.

These are all taken from longer playlists, focusing on the bits that really made me smile.

One:
Hot Chocolate — Brother Louie
Drifters — At the Club
Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes — Don't Leave Me This Way
Jackie Wilson — I Get the Sweetest Feeling
Ike & Tina Turner — River Deep Mountain High
Ben E. King — I Who Have Nothing
Smokey Robinson & The Miracles — I Don't Blame You At All
Stevie Wonder — Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday
Aretha Franklin/Elton John — Through the Storm
Diana Ross — Love Hangover
Jackie Wilson — Reet Petite
Aretha Franklin — Border Song

Also:
Whitney Houston — Exhale
Janet Jackson — That's the Way Love Goes
Mariah Carey — Fantasy
Michael Jackson/50 Cent — Remember the Time
Gabrielle — Dreams
Janet Jackson — Got 'Til It's Gone
Kelly Clarkson — The Trouble With Love Is
Barbra Streisand — Evergreen (I know, but it works)

And:
Aerosmith — Cryin'
Pearl Jam — Alive
Queen — Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Journey — Wheel in the Sky
Rolling Stones — Brown Sugar
Led Zeppelin — Rock and Roll
Creedence — Bad Moon Rising
Doors — Break on Through

One more:
Arcade Fire — Black Wave/Bad Vibrations
National — Fake Empire
Hold Steady — Stuck Between Stations
Rilo Kiley — Under the Blacklight
Black Keys — All You Ever Wanted
Joy Division — Dead Souls
She & Him — Sentimental Heart
