Sunday Notebook

Regular readers know about my fixation on Christmas songs, especially old and/or weird ones. I keep hoping to transfer a lot of my vinyl to a digital format, and have one of those ion usb turntables to do it with, but have never put together a few hours to figure out all the nuances of using it. So I was intrigued last year to find a Web site offering CD transfers of the classic Firestone Christmas LPs and other holiday fare. And this year I got around to doing a story about the site and the man running it, which you can find here.

The weekly DVD column, topped by "Angels & Demons," is here.

Today has also included chores, church and a trip to the University of Akron to see the 21-0 Zips win their first game in the 2009 NCAA tournament, 2-0 over South Florida. Go Zips!
