Golden Globes Nominations

You can find the list here.

I have made my contempt for the Golden Globes pretty clear over the years, so I won't get overly agitated about the list. But I am disappointed that "The Shield" was so thoroughly overlooked when it had a brilliant final season full of stunning performances.

"Some guy in 'The Tudors' got a nomination and I didn't?"

And while "The Dark Knight" got one nomination — for Heath Ledger's brilliant performance — the movie as a whole was so good that it should have found its way into some other categories. Oh, well. That's my first-look reaction. Anything stand out for you?

interesting. I wanted more nominations for Mamma Mia!, I adored the entire cast of that one, they were great together. There's always so many other shows and movies I like that I think should get some kind of award, I don't know how people pick just 5 for each category.

For as under the radar as "In Bruges" was, the two nominations, for Colin Ferrell and Brandon Gleeson (sorry if I spelled any of those wrong) were a surprise to me.

I've almost come to the point where the entertainment universe, whether in music or television or movies, has outgrown awards, that you can't possibly honor the best offered, especially when you've got to kiss so much (stuff) in the process.

"In Bruges" is still sitting in my must-see pile of DVDs…
