I probably won't be watching Life on Mars until sometime this weekend, but I was very happy to see BBC America running a marathon this weekend (with occasional subtitles!), since I'm assuming that music rights are going to make it difficult, if not impossible, for a complete DVD release. I'm really not sold on the idea of Harvey Keitel as Gene Hunt, but I guess I'll have to see it to form a good opinion. But Philip Glenister was so good!

Speaking of which, have you heard anything as to whether or not BBC America is picking up the continuation, Ashes to Ashes?

And, this brings me to The Office: the first two episodes this season have already been better than most of last season!

I hope they can sustain it -- and that they have some good ideas down the road. The British series only made 16 episodes, and if the U.S. version lasts, it will need a lot more than that. "The Office" overcame that challenge, though, and I am guardedly optimistic about "Life on Mars."

I think that I am most excited for Life on Mars. Someone wrote that it has the obsessive attention to detail the Mad Men had for the 60's. I saw the preview at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEWpWM7Iyhc and it looks pretty interesting.
