It's funny that you mention that Steve thought about sticking with the Celtics in this episode, because I always thought that he said that in the Brandon has a gambling problem ones.

Another thing that bugged me about this episode is that Steve is supposed to be a great volleyball player, why is he terrible at basketball? A lot of the skills needed in volleyball are needed in hoops, but he can't bring the beach to the court? Strange.

Brandon is made out to be a very liberal character but this is just one of the many incidents where he has a communication problem with a black character.

Maybe Andrea and Brandon dropped the player importation thing because they felt really bad about falsely accusing the first guy. Or maybe they realized they shouldn't encourage anyone to look too closely at who is and isn't zoned to West Beverly High, ANDREA.

I completely forgot how racist they made Steve out to be in this episode, and I don't remember it coming up again. I'm kind of allergic to Steve though; I have a hard time focusing on the screen when he's there. He was always my least favorite character, even including Donna. Maybe this is why! But I can't remember!

Jason Priestley is all of about 5'4", so he was going to have some trouble making the team regardless.
