Another thing that bugged me about this episode is that Steve is supposed to be a great volleyball player, why is he terrible at basketball? A lot of the skills needed in volleyball are needed in hoops, but he can't bring the beach to the court? Strange. Brandon is made out to be a very liberal character but this is just one of the many incidents where he has a communication problem with a black character. Or maybe they realized they shouldn't encourage anyone to look too closely at who is and isn't zoned to West Beverly High, ANDREA. I completely forgot how racist they made Steve out to be in this episode, and I don't remember it coming up again.
