Rich - thanks for the concern; Scranton would be a step-up from the freakshow I'm hanging out with.

I think Toby could stoop that low, especially after his humiliation in the episode last week.

I don't think Toby would stoop that low, since it's been established before that Toby had been one of Jim's better friends in the office (at least in the DVD deleted scenes), but maybe he's desperate at this point. What I'm thinking is that Jim went over Ryan's head (as noted last week), and then Ryan, in his drug-addled state, decided on his own to "warn" Jim, and made sure Toby was in there as the HR rep. At this point, Toby may just decide to add some fuel to the fire on his own.

Eric: I would have liked a reason for Stanley being so snappish, but one of the ways that "The Office" plays it real is by not explaining every character's motivation. And maybe he was just having a bad day. Ann: I probably should have given the IKEA joke more credit; after all, I work with people who made a pilgrimage to the IKEA in Pittsburgh. Elizabeth: I can see Toby and Ryan forming an anti-Jim alliance -- there's been a lot of anti-Jim stuff this year -- and can even imagine that Toby gave Ryan the ammo for it. But should I even ask what's going on at your job?

It was nice to see Stanley a little more. And nice to see Michael stand up for himself. However, I'm not sure about the Ryan/Toby vs. Jim thing: After last week with Ryan's "friend" having a drug problem, I thought we were in for the downfall of Mr. Howard and his return to Scranton (and for that matter - reality). I can buy Ryan & Toby ganging up on Jim, for their individual reasons, but I'm not sure Ryan has the pull he thinks he does. (And this of course does not reflect my own experiences at my job over the last 2 weeks :)

Seriously - I screamed at the IKEA jokes. It's so true, I'm dying to get IKEA in Cleveland so I don't have to drive to sooty Pittsburgh for strangely appealing Euro-nonsense (at the very least, we deserve a Container Store). You might be right about the bowling alleys, but there are a lot of bowling alleys in NE Ohio. It's one of the reasons I love it here.

Best line of the night:

Jenna: "A drinking contest? What am I, 12 and at my boyfriend's frat party?"

(And I cracked up at the football/nose/Marcia bit...and the Newsies)

Stanley seemed way out of character attacking Michael so openly. And anything that stifles Jim's antics in the office is not good.
