Here's my thing with David A.: he's a little Billy Gillman-"ish". I loved the kid from the start, but every week its become "what life lesson does Sparky (my pet name for him) have for us this week?" Just sing a mindless pop song or something and change it up. There's being "in your comfort zone" and there's showing that you're more than a one trick pony. The reasons I enjoy a David Cook or a Michael Johns or Jason Castro is I don't know what to expect and part of my enjoyment is seeing how far and well these contestants can stretch their talent. More importantly, while I did not like Cook AT ALL to begin the competition, I now look forward to his performances each week for their creativity and excellence. Terrorists notwithstanding, I think Kristy stays tonight simply because Ramiele was such a mess at the beginning.
