I was very happy to see her get it, because her performance really moved me. I adored that movie, and I'd never even heard of Edith Piaf before. I thought she showed incredible talents, playing her at all those ages, etc. I saw Away From Her and didn't think that required nearly the acting skills that Marion used. (I can't say about the others, having not seen them). But then again, I so rarely can figure out what the Academy thinks is good acting, so...it just totally surprised me that for once we agreed!
