I have long posts below about Leno and Letterman. Will get to the other shows later. One brief thought, also mentioned in the Letterman post: Leno's show looked a lot like Leno usually does, as if it had a writing staff. And Letterman felt more like the show of someone doing without his writers — there were some really aimless pieces — and ticked off about it — lots of pro-writers material.
