A few notes after the jump, based on tonight's episode, and I welcome your comments. …
Well, you can see now why I was so enthusiastic in my review, linked in a previous post. It was especially effective to use Hurley as the centerpiece, since — as I said in the review — he is really the viewers' surrogate. And I think his emotions, whether it's hugging someone planning to commit him or something far deeper, are especially powerful because he is so much a link between us and what happens on the island.
I could say more, but I'm interested in what you all think.
